With an annual R&D budget twice the industry average and a global innovation network of more than 35 package design and food science laboratories worldwide, Sealed Air recognizes that innovation today means much more than creating new products. Innovation Highlights
Cryovac® Food Packaging WorldStar Awards
Sealed Air’s Cryovac® brand food packaging business recently received three WorldStar Awards, the packaging industry’s most prestigious worldwide honors. The Cryovac® Simple Steps® produce package was recognized for its easy-open, microwaveable design that offers a quick and simple way to cook fresh vegetables. The Compression Pack for Dri-Loc® pads was recognized for its space saving packaging format. The Cryovac® saddle pack-style poultry package was recognized for offering versatile meal preparation and easy storage. These same package designs also were honored with 2006 Top Packaging Awards from the Flexible Packaging Association.
Inflatable Packaging Innovations
Sealed Air has been a leader in developing inflatable packaging solutions that deliver numerous benefits for our customers ranging from logistics savings to improved productivity. In 2006, we introduced our new Fill-Air® 2000 inflatable packaging system for high volume void-fill applications. We also introduced our NewAir I.B.® 600 system for high-speed on-site, on-demand high performance cushioning requirements. Adding to Sealed Air’s broad inflatable packaging offering, we unveiled our new FillTeck™ inflatable cushioning system in 2006, which enables users to customize the height and length of their cushion sizes for optimal flexibility.
